Abby Wambach scored twice to claim the tourney's Silver Boot as second top scorer with six goals, with the opener coming on a redirected Lori Chalupny shot at the half hour.

Norway appeared to have an equalizer in the 42nd minute, but Melissa Wiik's header was waved off by the offside flag.

Kristine Lilly nearly doubled the US lead just before the break with a delicate chip shot, but Norway keeper Bente Nordby was able to make the acrobatic stop.

A minute out of intermission Wambach did grab the second at close range from a Cat Whitehill set-up.

Lori Chalupny made it three from the slot in the 58th minute and Heather O'Reilly followed with another from a similar location only seconds later.

Ragnhild Gulbrandsen was able to pull one back moments later with an arcing header, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
