The 30-year old, who has 75 national team caps, will immediately join his new squad at the Home Depot Center for the team's preseason camp.

"Raphaël is a talented guy who can play in central midfield or on the left wing, and who has also played in defense," Chivas USA coach Preki told the club website. "We are happy to add a player of Raphaël Wicky's credentials to our midfield."

Wicky played with Switzerland in the 1996 and 2004 European Championships and worked all four games for his team at the latest FIFA World Cup in Germany. His career also includes a decade in the Bundesliga with Hamburg and Werder Bremen, plus a season with La Liga's Atlético Madrid.
