The move allows the Florida native to return to the Norwegian top flight, where he played with Sandefjord in 2006.

"That's obviously a big reason," Waltrip told American Soccer Daily. "More money never hurts either!"

In all seriousness, the attacker is eager to suit up for the Blue Whites, who participated in the UEFA Cup as recently as 2006.

"Molde has a little more tradition, they've played in Europe a few times," said Waltrip. "There are more expectations which means a little more pressure to perform, but that doesn't bother me."

Despite a decent season from a personal standpoint, the 30-year old is happy to be away from the 'kick-and-run' tactics used during his season in Sogndal. Waltrip scored seven goals in the club's first 11 games, then was shut out the rest of the way.

"The coach is an ex-professional and he really wants to play," he noted. "He wants to win and wants to give the fans something to see."

Though the former University of South Florida ace will now happily take part in more cultured game plans, he warned against expecting too much to soon from the risers. With several new players on board, the team will need time to gel and Waltrip reports that , for now, much of the clubhouse talk centers around comfortable survival.

"The main goal is to stay up," he stated. "I think it's pretty realistic to have a good season and stay away from the relegation battle."

Molde begin the 2008 Eliteserien schedule with a visit from Stabæk on March 30th.
