Robbie Russell started at right back for Viborg, but was thoroughly outclassed by Copenhagen left midfielder Jesper Grønkjær. Christian Muomaife replaced the Yank after 65 minutes.

The guests fought the good fight for most of the first half, but an error from Robert Åhman-Persson in the closing minute of the half allowed Canada Gold Cup player Atiba Hutchinson to snap up the ball and send it past John Alvbåge for the opener.

With celebrations still going in the stands, Michael Silberbauer sent in a cross for Morten Nordstrand, who easily tapped it in to give the hosts a 2-0 lead at halftime.

With 10 minutes to go, the visitors put some excitement back in it when Muomaife moved into the box to fire the ball into the far corner.

Three minutes later, Ailton Almeida gave the visitors a further advantage when he earned a red card for shoving Thomas Tengstedt. In the final minute, however, Nordstrand finished off a Copenhagen counterattack with his second goal of the game.

Viborg are dead last having been outscored 10-1 through three games ahead of next weekend's away meeting with rivals FC Midtjylland.
