Robbie Russell started at right back for the hosts and gave a decent performance before being replaced by Lasse Kryger in the 72nd minute.

Viborg dominated the first half and it was well deserved when Steffen Højer sent Petter Furuseth-Olsen one-on-one with Brøndby keeper Stephan Andersen for the opening goal.

A few minutes later, Russell saw his chance to double the score with a shot from the edge of the box, but this time, Andersen was equal to the task.

Brøndby took over in the second half, and it was no less deserved when Morten "Duncan" Rasmussen side-stepped Kryger on the edge of the box to send it between Thomas Tengstedt's legs into the right side of the goal, out of keeper John Alvbåge's reach.

In the end, the draw was a fair result, but the highly entertaining game deserved more goals from both teams.

Viborg remain dead last, but even on points with Aarhus GF before hosting AC Horsens on Sunday.
