The United States Women's National Team defeated Norway 4-0 in their final group match in the Algarve Cup match. The US ladies only needed a tie to advance to the championship game and they won in dominating fashion.

Norway came in needing goals and almost got one early on when Ingvild Stensland's shot from 22 yards out hit the crossbar.

Isabell Herlovsen had a chance late in the half, but was stopped by US keeper Nicole Barnhart. Herlovsen tried to get a shot over Barnhart when the keeper charged at her, but Barnhart got a hand on the ball to deflect it.

Natasha Kai put the US ahead in the 55th minute due to a mistake by Norwegian keeper Ingrid Hjelmseth. After a save, she placed the ball down to boot away, but did not see the US attacker on her left. Kai sprinted to the ball, won it from the keeper and then dribbled it into the net.

Abby Wambach put the US up by two only two minutes later. Carli Lloyd passed to the #20 shirt, who put the ball in off her chest.

Heather O'Reilly continued the streak of goals only eight minutes later. Leslie Osborne crossed from the edge of the box to the young striker, who jumped over two Norwegians and headed the ball into the goal.

As if three was not enough, Amy Rodriguez put the US up by four in the 90th minute. Wambach fed her the ball and she put it past the Norwegian keeper Ingrid Hjelmseth, who has surely seen better days.

The US won Group A and will face Denmark in the final on Wednesday. Neither team has allowed any goals in the tournament so far. The US will be playing in their sixth consecutive Algarve Cup final and will be going for their sixth Algarve Cup championship.
