Needing only a draw to win the tourney, the Lady 'Nats were forced to squash the first opportunity for China in the 13th minute. Hope Solo made a good stop after Han Duan had wiggled into the area. Tournament honors were also handed out to Top Scorer Lindsay Tarpley and Best Coach Pia Sundhage, and the team received the Fair Play Award thanks to three games without a single yellow card. |
