The US Under-23 National Team ended its tour of China with a 3-3 tie against the Chinese U-23 squad at Yue Xiu Shan Stadium in Guangzhou.

The US scored on its first attempt of the game in the 13th minute. Sacha Kljestan flicked-on a long throw by Marvell Wynne that found Robbie Rogers in the center of the box. The Columbus winger then pounded a volley past the Chinese keeper.

Twelve minutes later, Patrick Ianni doubled the lead for the Americans. Combining with Houston teammate Stuart Holden, Ianni headed Holden's corner in at the far post.

Victory looked to be assured in the 32nd minute when Peter Nowak's boys capped off a swift counterattack. Wynne intercepted a through ball and one-timed a pass to Robbie Findley. The Salt Lake striker sent a ball down the right flank, where Charlie Davies collected, ran by his marker and slotted home at the far post.

Peter Nowak, expectedly, made six changes at the beginning of the second half, which saw China even the score.

Early in the second half, Lu Lin found space on the left side and his cross was flicked in by Zhu Ting at the far post to make it 3-1.

The American's lead was cut to one in the 65th minute, when a botched clearance fell to Du Zhenyu, who touched the ball under Chris Seitz and over the line.

A fortunate call saw China even the score in the last minute of regulation. Aaron Hohlbein, a second half substitute, made what appeared to be a clean tackle on Zhenyu, but referee Zhao Liang awarded a penalty to the hosts. Zhenyu collected his second goal of the match when he rolled his penalty past a wrong-footed Seitz.

The U-23's will reconvene on January 6th for a two-week training camp in Bradenton, Florida. Olympic qualifying takes place from March 11-23, 2008, in Los Angeles, Tampa and Nashville.
