With a friendly against South Africa in Johannesburg lurking just around the corner, US Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley has opted to add two more names to the match roster in the form of multi-position capable defenders Heath Pearce and Jonathan Spector.

The two additions come in place of veteran Derby County left winger Eddie Lewis, who has decided against the trek to the southern-most nation in Africa. Lewis had previously taken part in the 1-0 win over Switzerland last month and has taken part in eight EPL matches this season, boasting a solitary assist.

For Spector, the challenge follows a brief hiatus from 'Nats duty, while Pearce has until recently found himself on the periphery of Hansa Rostock's first team.

The two join a depth of defenders that includes standard pairing Oguchi Onyewu and Carlos Bocanegra, fullbacks Jonathan Bornstein and Steve Cherundolo, and Aalborg stopper Danny Califf - although both might well see playing time elsewhere, with Spector having recently discovered a zest for central midfield at West Ham and Pearce having been implemented on the left side of midfield for Die Kögge.

The friendly is slated for November 17th, with kickoff at 9:00 pm ET. It will be broadcast live stateside on Fox Soccer Channel and Galavision.

UPDATE: LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan was removed from the US roster due to a calf strain suffered in friendly action against the Minnesota Thunder.
