Rude Warm-Up Match for U-20s
by Greg Seltzer - June 7, 2007

The US Under-20 National Team has the tables turned by a vengeful Canada in a 4-0 friendly loss in Kingston, Ontario on Wednesday night.

Thomas Rongen's crew had scored a 4-1 victory over the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup hosts a few days earlier, but were hit early and often by their northern neighbors in the rematch.

Tousaint Ricketts netted after only two minutes, then added another near the half hour after teammate Jonathon Beaulieu-Bourgault had doubled in the 19th minute.

Ricketts completed his hat trick in the 65th minute, corralling a long ball and rounding Julian Valentin to beat US debutant Diego Restrepo.

Rongen, who will unveil his World Cup roster next week, still has a June 23rd tune-up against Chile at Giants Stadium in New Jersey remaining before their tourney gets underway with a North Korea clash in Montreal one week later.
