The first penalty kick was awarded after just eight minutes for a handball in the US area. US keeper Zac MacMath came close, but could not reach Nour Hadhria's spot kick in time.

In first half injury time, Hadhria was fouled just inside the area and added his second from the 12-yard spot.

The US managed to pull one back in the 90th minute when Alex Nimo was fouled in the area. Jared Jeffrey converted the penalty kick, but as the Yanks pushed forward for the last minute equalizer, Tunisia struck on the counter.

Saifeddine Ben Akremi played a flat square ball to a wide open Rafik Dkhil, who put it past MacMath.

Despite losing their first two games, the US can still qualify for the knockout stage with a win over Belgium if Tunisia beat Tajikistan. Those games will be played on Sunday.
