Brescia head coach Serse Cosmi, without midfielders Alessio Tacchinardi and Marius Stankevicius and striker Davide Possanzini, ran a 3-5-2 formation with youngsters Gaetano Berardi and Adam Vass lined up.

The first half was a dreary struggle, with both teams trying for control the game.

In the second half, home side Triestina got off to a quick start, and after fifteen minutes, midfielder Riccardo Allegretti scored on a free kick to put his team ahead to stay.

Cosmi then brought on attacking midfielder Roberto De Zerbi, former Columbus Crew midfielder Szetela and Hungarian forward Robert Feczesin to change the match to no avail.

With this loss, Brescia falls to seven points out of an automatic promotion place ahead of hosting next-to-last Spezia next Saturday.
