Brescia technical director Gina Luca Nani confirmed to American Soccer Daily on Wednesday that the team have obtained a loan deal for the US midfielder.

Nani stated that Szetela will be headed to the first squad, and that Brescia hold an option to purchase the player at the end of the season.

The former Columbus Crew midfielder hasn't had many chances to prove himself during the first half of the 2007/08 La Liga season, and is still waiting for his first league outing with the Racing Santander's first team. Szetela's loan appearance was a Copa del Rey start against Málaga in November.

Brescia were among the last candidates to sign the 2007 Under-20 World Cup standout last summer, and now appear determined to find a full transfer solution with Racing.

Now, with White-Blues coach Serse Cosmi able to work well with youngsters, Szetela has the opportunity to show his skills on a club in the race for Serie A promotion. In addition to regulars Francisco Lima and Alessio Tacchanardi, the American will face some competition from fellow winter midfield recruit Roberto Di Zerbi, who has arrived from Serie A side Napoli.

Brescia currently stand sixth in Serie B, holding down the last promotion playoff spot ahead of Saturday's visit from Grosseto.
