The American was Bajen's most threatening player and had the best chance of the game for the hosts as part of seven shots on goal.

The best chance for the USMNT striker came after 15 minutes when he ran onto a through pass by Haris Laitinen to get in alone on goal. Davies tried to curl his shot in at the far post, but his shot instead ended up in the chest of Kim Christensen.

Hammarby's Louay Chanko had a good chance later on in the first half, but the free kick specialist curled his right footed shot inches wide of the near post.

IFK Göteborg closed out the half with a good chance of their own when Pontus Wernbloom got on the end of a counter attack and created space to get off a left footed shot that Rami Shaaban kicked to safety.

Bajen continued to dominate possession in the second half, but struggled to create any clear cut chances. Davies created a good chance by himself when he used his speed down the left flank to create a 3-on-2 break, but his poor pass was intercepted by IFK to the frustration of a waiting Petter Andersson and Freddy Söderberg.

IFK's Wernbloom should have given the visitors the lead in the 73rd minute, but he completely mis-hit his header when Hammarby miserably failed at their marking.

Andersson had Hammarby's final chance, but his shot from distance went just wide of the right post.

Hammarby face rivals Djurgården on Wednesday.
