American forward Ryan Guy came in as a substitute in the 81st minute for the victors, while American goalkeeper Chris Konopka sat on Bohemians' bench.

Keith Fahey's wonderful strike from over 30 meters in the 13th minute would be the only goal of the match.

The Gypsies tried to fight back less than 10 minutes later when Owen Heary delivered a great cross, but Glen Crowe's left-footed shot from the edge of the box was tipped around the post by Pat's keeper Barry Ryan.

The Bohs appealed for a penalty rejected early in the second half after John Paul Kelly's cross appeared to have gone off a hand.

The Pats went down to 10 men in the 80th minute when Dessie Byrne received his second yellow card. Five minutes later, an altercation between Pats keeper Barry Ryan and Bohs midfielder Killian Brennan resulted in both players getting red cards.

St Patrick's Athletic stay at the top of the table and Bohemians are in sixth. The Pats host Galway United on March 21 and the Bohs travel to play Sligo Rovers on March 21.
