The Sclessin faithful didn't need to wait long to celebrate as Dieumerci Mbokani nodded home his first goal for the team after only two minutes.

Shortly thereafter, Onyewu had a small mix-up with his keeper, but Vusumuzi Prince Nyoni was unable to capitalize.

Midway through the period, increasing home pressure led to a Standard corner kick, which Marouane Fellaini promptly buried for his third strike in as many season games.

Oleg Iachtchouk reduced the deficit with seven minutes left until intermission, but Mbokani grabbed his second with another header on the stroke of halftime.

Axel Witsel made good on Salim Toama's second assist of the night in the 56th minute to close the scoring. The win takes Les Rouches level at the top on nine points after three games with Club Brugge and Gent.
