Simek Slated to Miss 6-8 Weeks

The scan on Sheffield Wednesday star Frank Simek's ankle has revealed ligament damage, meaning the US international will likely be forced to the sideline until February.

The defender was removed near the half hour of their weekend loss to Crystal Palace after coming down awkwardly.

"The scans showed that Frank has ruptured a ligament in his ankle," Owls physio Mark Palmer told the club website.

"We will see how he progresses over the next ten days, but it is likely that he will be out for six to eight weeks."

Simek has appeared in 20 matches this season for Wednesday.
