The US international has been out injured since he damaged ankle ligaments while falling awkwardly against Crystal Palace on December 15th.

"He is back doing runs, but is not involved in full training at the moment," Owls press officer Colin Wood told American Soccer Daily.

"He is getting closer and is taking it step by step at the moment. He is doing weight bearing training and taking it as it comes."

Wednesday have lost six of 10 since Simek was sidelined, and have fallen into the drop zone ahead of Tuesday's visit from fellow strugglers Coventry.
