Michael Bradley and visiting Heerenveen handed first place PSV Eindhoven their first defeat of the season, a 2-1 decision earned through Jan Kromkamp's late own goal.

The US midfielder went the distance in midfield as the Frisians snapped a Philips Stadion win drought dating back to December of 1999. Meanwhile, Lee Nguyen was not in uniform for the hosts.

Bradley went close with an early25-meter blast, but it was the Farmers that would open the scoring on 28 minutes. H eerenveen keeper Brian Vandenbussche spilled a Kenneth Perez cross, leaving easy pickings for Danko Lazovic.

The lead would only last a few minutes, however, as Kristian Bak-Nielsen kissed home a Danijel Pranjic cross.

Heerenveen missed a chance to take a lead into the break after Bradley sent Beerens flying down the wing. His centering feed was misplayed by PSV keeper Gomes and young defender Dirk Marcellis, but Afonso Alves failed to take advantage.

With 20 minutes to play, the visitors grabbed the lead on the own goal. Shortly after Jefferson Farfán squandered PSV's best chance of the second half, Kromkamp inadvertently directed a Miralem Sulejmani cross past his keeper.

Any hope of a home comeback was essentially dashed in the 86th minute, when Edison Méndez was shown the gate for his second yellow card.

The Blue White Vikings climbed to fourth place on the strength of their fourth straight league win ahead of next Sunday's trip to Vitesse.
