Queens Park Rangers have confirmed that they do not intend to offer injured American netminder Matt Pickens a contract extension, freeing him to search for a new club.

The erstwhile Chicago Fire backstop, who arrived earlier this year, is still being cared for by the club after recently suffering a separated shoulder in training.

"He's still receiving treatment," QPR press officer Ian Taylor told American Soccer Daily. "His contract ends in June. He's not up for a new contract, but it is nothing to do with (the injury)."

Pickens was immediately installed as the back-up keeper upon arrival, but failed to make a single Championship appearance for the Loftus Road crew.
