Despite three losses to open the season, Hansa Rostock defender Heath Pearce believes better days are just around the corner for the Bundesliga risers.

The American has good reason for optimism; the club appear close to finding their top flight feet and former Schalke striker Victor Agali has arrived this week to add some punch to the attack.

After an opening day 3-0 loss at Bayern Munich - one that doesn't seem so harsh considering the punishments the mighty Bavarians have doled out in subsequent weeks - Hanseaten have suffered a pair of agonizing one-goal defeats.

"I am very confident," Pearce told American Soccer Daily of the chase for their first points of the term. "We have signed a new striker that I think will help our game immediately, and many of us have gotten a taste of the Bundesliga and know what it takes to be good here."

Whether that ice breaker comes sooner or later, the US left back figures the team's fans will stay behind them all the way.

"We have only had one home game, so it's hard to tell the stance of the supporters, but I think that they will stand behind us always," offered Pearce. "Hansa has a very loyal following!"

Even if the city is remaining patient, the #3 shirt is eager to start climbing from the basement. "I am getting very antsy," he admitted.

"Not so much for the win, but to continue to play matches at this level. Its a great level to play at and a lot of fun, but on top of that, I am also very antsy to get some points on the board and turn our poor start to the season around!"

The next opportunity for a jump start comes when Borussia Dortmund descend on the DKB-Arena this weekend, and Pearce a little act clean up can go a long way.

"The key is to continue our good moments for longer periods of time," he offered. "Force our opponents to adjust to our style instead of the other way around."

"But I think the most important thing is that we cut out the little mistakes that are costing us big during the games."
