Odd Grenland defender Nat Borchers claims it was backline maneuvering from the coaching staff that set the team on a three-game unbeaten run ahead of the Tippeligaen's summer break.

The Skien Boys had six one-goal losses from their first nine games of the season - but then allowed only two goals while winning at IK Start, defeating visitors Sandefjord and tying at Fredrikstad to rise out of the cellar.

Borchers, now back in the middle after starting the season at right back, credits coaching adjustments for the turnaround.

"We decided to step up our defensive game, and I think that has been the difference in our results," the former Rapids man explained to American Soccer Daily. "We have dropped our back line about 15 yards lower and we've really put a premium on playing good defense."

"Also, I think that the players are starting to become more comfortable with one another, and it has shown in our attack. It's too bad that we had to go into the break with so much momentum, but I'm confident that we will be able to continue getting results."

Odd resume the 2007 slate next Sunday with a visit from promoted scrappers Strømsgodset.
