10-MAN FRISIANS SLIP AT HOME
Heerenveen saw their five-game Eredivisie win streak halted at five thanks to a 3-2 Abe Lenstra defeat to risers De Graafschap.

Michael Bradley went the distance in midfield to remain one of only three Frisians to start every match this season.

The American had a pair of early chances in alone with Super Farmers netminder Jim van Fessem, only to shoot meekly at the keeper and then wide.

The visitors went on top after 12 minutes when Thomas Prager lagged behind while the Frisians were setting an offside trap on a free kick. Lasse Schøne was kept onside, allowing him to set up Donny de Groot for the opener.

Gerald Sibon just missed equalizing on a header soon thereafter, but the home side were level on 24 minutes. Danijel Pranjić picked out Michael Dingsdag at the far post with a restart and the defender made no mistake from the doorstep.

Just before the break, Radoslaw Matusiak had a golden chance to put his team ahead, but Van Fessem was able to pull off a kick save on his volley.

Almost immediately, De Graafschap took the lead for good when the hosts failed to clear a corner. Arnar Viðarsson tapped the found ball to Schøne for the 2-1 finish.

Heerenveen came out after intermission with a head of steam, but Matusiak and Bradley each squandered a good opportunity.

In the 63rd minute, the Blue White Vikings would go down a man when Gianni Zuiverloon collected a second yellow card for dissent after an apparent foul on Bradley was ignored.

Only four minutes later, Berry Powel extended the away lead from another Viðarsson assist.

After Léon Hese handled in the area with 12 minutes to play, Pranjic closed the gap with the resulting spot kick. However, the hosts were unable to conjure an equalizer as Matusiak wasted a pair of chances.

Heerenveen will get back to work next Sunday with a trip to NEC Nijmegen.

UNLUCKY TOP DOWNED IN DEVENTER
TOP Oss wasted several scoring opportunities at Go Ahead Eagles Friday night, allowing the home side to both win the period title and move level on points with first place RKC Waalwijk on a 2-0 win.

Charles Kazlauskas put in a full 90-minute shift for the visitors, who remained 13th in the table.

The chances started coming early, with TOP keeper Wilko de Vogt tipping a laser Oguzhan Türk free kick around the post.

Moments later, Eric Quekel fired wildly over with Revy Rosalia open at the far post after being played through on the right by a seeing eye Kazlauskas pass.

Achmed Ahahaoui broke the ice just past the half hour, stripping the ball from Niek Ripson to dribble in alone and scoop a shot over the onrushing De Vogt.

Quekel then narrowly missed on a post-up turnaround try before De Vogt and Yvo van Engelen did well to stop Ahahaoui on a two-shot breakaway.

Early in the second half, Davy Zafarin should have done better than to fire over from a deflected Kazlauskas cross. Moments later, Rosalia saw a pair of good efforts - a curled shot from 15 meters and a laser volley from 18 - turned wide by Go Ahead keeper Kevin Moeliker.

With De Vogt forward on a last minute corner kick, the hosts put the game away as Orlando Smeekes rambled 60 meters with the clearance to slot into the open net.

TOP will begin a new period title chase on Friday with a visit from FC Emmen.
