FRISIANS UNDERWHELM IN OPENER
Heerenveen made a dreary start to the Eredivisie season, scrapping with visitors Willem II in a rainy goalless affair on Friday night.

Michael Bradley worked a full shift in midfield wearing his new #6 shirt, and started once close passing sequence that saw Jakob Poulsen waste an easy chance.

Frisians keeper Rob van Dijk was at his best behind a poor defensive display, but did get a line clear rescue from Gianni Zuiverloon on an Arjan Swinkels rebound header.

In the second half, he pawed away a Thomas Bælum try from the right side and tipped over a bouncing header from Ajax loan item Rydell Poepon.

HEER - Rob van Dijk; Gianni Zuiverloon, Marcel Breuer, Michael Dingsdag, Timmi Johansen, Bak Nielsen (Gonzalo García-García 76'), Michael Bradley, Jakob Poulsen (Roy Beerens 61'), Danijel Pranjic, Miralem Sulejmani, Gerald Sibon

WIL - Kenneth Vermeer; Frank van der Struijk, Thomas Bælum, Jens Janse (Steef Niuwendaal 75'), Danny Mathijssen, Ibrahim Kargbo, Saïd Boutahar, Arjan Swinkels, Kevin Bobson, Mounir El Hamdaoui (Anouar Hadouir 85'), Rydell Poepon

TOP RALLY FOR DORDRECHT SHARE
Charles Kazlauskas and TOP Oss notched their second straight tie to start the season on Friday night with a 1-all result at FC Dordrecht.

The American went the distance, picking up a yellow card for an enthusiastic challenge on home keeper Sjoerd Rensen in the late going.

Nassir Maachi bagged his second goal in as many weeks to put Dordrecht ahead in the 20th minute, but Davy Zafarin leveled with a quick reply from some area pinball. Kazlauskas' long ball rattled around before settling on the winger's foot, and he made no mistake.

Top saw a late bid for a winner denied when Revy Rosalia's turnaround try hit the post and caromed straight into the waiting arms of a prone Rensen.

Scoring
FCD - Nassir Maachi 2 20'
TOP - Davy Zafarin 1 28'

TOP - Wilko de Vogt; Charles Kazlauskas, Niek Ripson, Leon van Dalen, Bart van Hintum, Dirk Schoofs, Revy Rosalia, Mike Thijssen Wouter van den Herik, Eric Quekel (Dimitri Djollo 90')
