OWN GOAL RESCUES FRISIANS

Heerenveen remained winless on the season, but managed a double second half rally to earn a 3-3 share with visiting Sparta Rotterdam on Saturday evening.

US international Michael Bradley worked a full shift for the Blue White Vikings, who broke on top as Gerald Sibon headed home thanks to a mistake from away keeper Cor Varkevisser just past the half hour.

Moments after Nourdin Boukhari rang the post, the Morocco international teed up Yuri Rose from close range for the leveler on the stroke of halftime.

Heerenveen netminder Brian Vandenbussche fouled Sjaak Polak in the area 11 minutes into the second period, and the veteran midfielder deposited the penalty himself.

Only three minutes later, Danijel Pranjic evened things up again when his cross floated into the Sparta net.

Unbowed, the visitors reclaimed the lead seconds later as Arne Slot tapped in a Boukhari pass.

Just when it seemed like Sparta would withstand a furious home sting of attacks, Darryl Roberts inadvertently knocked a Geert Arend Roorda corner serve into his own net with three minutes left.

VOLENDAM PLAY RUDE OSS GUESTS
TOP Oss remain in search of their first win of the campaign after dropping an unlucky 2-0 home decision to Volendam on Friday night.

Charles Kazlauskas did his typical 90 minutes worth of right back duty for the hosts.

A 16th minute defensive lapse allowed Boy Deul, who turned 20 on Thursday, a belated gift to open with a well-struck 20-meter shot.

TOP immediately went on the attack, and came close several times before the break. First, Eric Quekel was robbed by Volendam goalie Jeroen Verhoeven, then Bart van Hintum hit the woodwork from distance.

Kazlauskas had a legit penalty gripe ignored soon thereafter as Verhoeven pulled the American down as he rounded the keeper in alone.

The hosts seemed to lose their momentum through the interval, and Rowin van Zaanen gave "the Other Oranje" some breathing room with a cheeky 55th minute tally.

Scoring
VOL - Boy Deul 1 (Vit Valenta) 16'
VOL - Rowin van Zaanen 3 (Melvin Plaatje) 55'
