The Blue White Vikings manager has not, however, revealed whether he will hand reigning Eredivisie Golden Boot man Afonso Alves his season debut up top.

Heerenveen will definitely miss injured midfielder Andre Hanssen, while Jeroen Drost, Calvin Jong-A-Pin and Geert Arend Roorda are all in doubt.

The hosts, meanwhile, will give late fitness test to Kevin Hofland and captain Theo Lucius. Feyenoord will not be able to count on Lee Chun-Soo, Andwele Slory, Dwight Tiendalli, Tim Vincken and Ron Vlaar.

Each team won at home last season, but Heerenveen do boast a win and a draw from their last four De Kuip visits.
