FRISIANS IN DERBY SMASH 'N' GRAB
Heerenveen got a late winner from red-hot forward Miralem Sulejmani to raid arch rivals FC Groningen for a 1-0 win on Friday night.

US midfielder Michael Bradley worked all 90 minutes, but had his involvement often limited because both teams seemed determined to use the flank lanes.

The Frisians had the slightly better first half, with a Roy Beerens try saved well by Brian van Loo and Christian Grindheim cracking the post with a righty effort.

Second half sub Marnix Kolder nearly put the home side ahead just after coming on, but his 74th minute shot was smothered by Heerenveen keeper Rob van Dijk.

Kolder and Gerald Sibon each went close with headers at either end before Sulejmani finally broke the deadlock with four minutes left, scooping a clever sharp angle shot over the keeper and in.

The derby win allowed Heerenveen to take a tentative hold on third place, with Roda JC set to visit next Saturday.

HEER - Miralem Sulejmani 12 (Paulo Henrique) 86'

TOP BEATEN AT HOME
TOP Oss suffered a harsh blow to their promotion playoff hopes with a 2-1 home loss to Omniworld on Friday night.

Charles Kazlauskas went the full 90 in midfield for Hans de Koning's side.

The visitors ruled play in the first half and might have been disappointed to only put Diang Matusiwa's 27th minute strike on the board.

The Men from Oss drew level shortly after the break when Davy Zafarin slipped Eric Quekel into the area and the #9 shirt made no mistake with a far post shot.

Only seven minutes later, Sander Duits fired home a low 35-meter free kick drive that TOP keeper Wilko de Vogt would normally be expected to stop.

Matusiwa spurned a pair of chances to extend the away lead, while Quekel came closest to a late equalizer with a left-footed effort that sailed just over the near upper 90.

TOP will try to get back on track with Friday's visit to Volendam.
