▪ MLS July 4th Review

Scottish champs Celtic can now begin assembling a scouting report as the MLS All-Star starters for their July 19th clash outside of Denver were announced on Thursday afternoon.

The ballots were culled from fans, players, media members and league coaches, with each segment given one-quarter voting power.

The top vote-getter was Red Bulls sensation Juan Pablo Angel, who will be partnered up front by Kansas City ace Eddie Johnson, his equal atop the league scoring chart.

Also getting the nod in his first MLS season is FC Dallas midfield bulldog Juan Carlos Toja. He is joined in midfield by Houston's Dwayne De Rosario, the second highest vote-getter. Rounding out the crew are De Rosario teammate Ricardo Clark, DC United engine Christian Gomez and New England midfield fulcrum Shalrie Joseph.

New England keeper Matt Reis will be in goal, with a backline that includes Chivas USA youngster Jonathan Bornstein, veteran Wizard Jimmy Conrad and New England's Michael Parkhurst.
