TORONTO FC RALLIES FOR CLOSING DRAW
Toronto FC hosted New England on Saturday night for both teams' regular season finale, with Danny Dichio equalizing late to give the home side a share of the points.

Toronto was only playing for pride, its playoff hopes extinguished, and came out hoping to take first blood.

In the ninth minute, from deep in right midfield, Toronto midfielder Andrea Lombardo found Collin Samuel with space streaking in on goal. Revolution keeper Matt Reis made a great reaction save to keep the home side off the board.

Michael Parkhurst opened the scoring for the Revs in first half extra time with what may turn out to be MLS Goal of the Season. Seeing Kenny Stamatopoulos lingering off his line, Parkhurst stepped up at the midfield stripe and sent a shot over the Toronto keeper and straight into the back of the net.

Taylor Twellman added a second two minutes on the other side of the half when he headed Steve Ralston's corner for his 16th strike of the season. He was credited with the goal, though it appeared to deflect first off Toronto defender Andrew Boyens, bounce off the New England striker's shoulder blades and then bounce in off Toronto defender Tyrone Marshall.

Samuel did finally get his goal in the 59th minute, with much thanks to the perseverance of Marvell Wynne. The US Under-20 standout appeared to have lost control in front of the New England goal, only to manage a shot of the right hand post. The rebound fell to Samuel, who slotted home despite Parkhurst's best efforts.

In the game's closing seconds, Toronto managed the equalizer when Dichio managed an incredible lob past Weis. With his back to the goal, the forward's blind shot found the back of the net past the diving Revs keeper.

While Toronto is heading home, their season over, New England take on New York for a home-and-home series to begin the MLS Cup playoffs.

WIZARDS CLOSE STRONG
Scott Sealy helped himself to a brace as the Kansas City punched their ticket to the 2007 MLS playoffs with a solid 2-0 win over FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park.

The win is Kansas City's first in over a month, while also boasting their first multi-goal victory margin since the end of April. To Dallas, though, the result means they end the season having won just 2 of their last 10 games, finishing third in the Western Conference standings.

The final result meant everything for Kansas City - a win guaranteed a playoff spot, while a draw or a loss would see them need help - and it showed as the Wizards controlled the game, creating chances from the opening minute.

Davy Arnaud, Carlos Marinelli and Kurt Morsink all went close for KC within the first 10 minutes of the game, while Eddie Johnson blasted a clear chance over the crossbar in the 30th minute.

Sealy was able to cover for Johnson's mistake some nine minutes later, however, as the Trinidadian striker took hold of an excellent Davy Arnaud cross in the box, finishing deftly around Dallas goalkeeper Ray Burse.

Things started to look brighter for Dallas at the end of the first half as they created a nice chance for Arturo Alvarez, but the second half didn't start quite as nicely.

In fact, the Hoops found themselves in a hole only 10 minutes after the interval as Jack Jewsbury's off-target shot from the right found Scott Sealy, who easily finished at the far post.

Dallas couldn't find a way back thanks to some solid possession play by Kansas City, and now heads into next week's intra-state playoff match-up with the Houston Dynamo on a lost note.

The Wizards, on the other hand, will look forward to facing West champions Chivas USA.

CREW END SEASON ON A HIGH

The Columbus Crew finally won when it didn't matter to snap DC United's 13 match unbeaten streak on Saturday, as the Crew survived a late home onslaught to win 3-2.

It was a game that meant absolutely nothing standings-wise for either side, as the Columbus Crew were already eliminated from playoff contention while United had mathematically claimed the 2007 Supporter's Shield.

Nonetheless, the Crew came to RFK like thy had something to prove, and prove it they did in the 21st minute as Robbie Rogers outran Brian Carroll and toe-poked a Guillermo Barros-Schelotto pass through the legs of the onrushing Troy Perkins to make it 1-0 Columbus.

DC United tried hard to counter, but Crew goalkeeper Will Hesmer came up big with saves from MLS Golden Boot winner Luciano Emilio, Ben Olsen and substitute Guy-Roland Kpene.

The goalkeeper's big saves came in handy for the Crew, as Alejandro Moreno doubled their advantage with a brilliant volley in the 66th minute.

It seemed at the time that the rest of the game would be played out with minimal fuss, but Christian Gomez made things interesting with a cheeky chipped goal in the 89th minute, only for Rogers to score his second goal of the night just two minutes later.

Gomez would finish a penalty kick two minutes after that, but it was all for naught as Columbus finished out their disappointing season with a hard-fought victory.

CLB - Alejandro Moreno 7 (G. Barros Schelotto, Eddie Gaven) 66'

RSL CLAIMS ROCKY MOUNTAIN CUP

Colorado's playoff hopes were dashed when the Rapids were dealt a crushing 1-0 defeat at the hands of Real Salt Lake.

The visitors were able to extinguish Rapids playoff hopes, send retiring defender Eddie Pope out a winner and raise the Rocky Mountain Cup all in one night.

Early on, Real showed that they weren't going to lay down when Kyle Beckerman, playing against his former side, received a yellow card less than 10 seconds into the match.

The first real chance of the game when Chris Brown got behind the Rapids defense, but hit a bouncing ball wide of the frame.

In the 31st minute, Colin Clark, after receiving a through ball from Conor Casey, was able to round Nick Rimando only to see his shot deflect off the post.

Six minutes later, Beckerman put Fabian Espindola though on goal, but Bouna Coundoul smothered the Argentinean's attempt.

In the second half, Colorado began to push the envelope as Casey and Jovan Kirovski both had early chances stopped by Nick Rimando. Rimando continued to foil Colorado when he made a diving stop on a strong Jacob Peterson strike.

With 20 minutes left, Salt Lake almost took the lead against the run of play when Brown intercepted a back pass from Facundo Erpen, only to have his first touch end up in the hands of Coundoul.

After coming on as a substitute, Robbie Findley squandered a good chance in the 81st minute, but he was able to redeem himself six minutes later.

Carey Talley found the former Oregon State striker with a seeing eye through ball that put him in one-on-one with Coundoul. Findley won the race to the ball and poked it past the onrushing Colorado keeper for his eighth goal of the year.

Colorado nearly equalized, but Rimando was up to the task when he batted away a cross from Omar Cummings and then recovered to tip Tony Sanneh's rebound attempt over the bar.

Scoring
RSL - Robbie Findley 8 (Carrey Talley) 87'

Line-ups

DRAW EARNS GOATS WEST CROWN
Chivas USA clinched the first seed in the West by holding off the Houston Dynamo for a 0-0 draw.

Seven minutes in, Maykel Galindo hit a swerving attempt from distance just over the bar.

Pat Onstad was able to deal with a pair of attempts from Orlando Perez and Laurent Merlin in the 26th minute.

In the 40th minute, Lawson Vaughn was ejected from the contest for a gruesome tackle on Richard Mulrooney.

Up a man, Houston pressed for a goal in the opening minutes of the second half when Joseph Ngwenya, Dwayne De Rosario and Stuart Holden all had chances that just missed the goal.

Brian Ching somehow managed to miss a wide open net from inside the six-yard box when Holden flicked a ball onto the striker's thigh. Minutes later, Ching did well to find space only to have his well-hit attempt find the hands of Brad Guzan.

Thirteen minutes from time, Brad Davis found Ching with a left-footed cross, but the Hawaiian's header was not powerful enough to beat Guzan.

In injury time, Chivas nearly stole the game when Ramón Núñez put Sacha Kljestan in on goal, but Kljestan's attempt was hit right at Onstad.

Line-ups

CHV - Brad Guzan; Alex Zotinca, Claudio Suarez, Shavar Thomas, Orlando Perez, Sacha Kljestan, Paulo Nagamura, Lawson Vaughn, Jonathan Bornstein, Maykel Galindo (Jason Hernandez 70'), Laurent Merlin (Ramón Núñez 76')
