The Dynamo will be looking to become only the second team, in addition to DC United, to repeat as champions in the league's history. The defending champs are coming off of an impressive 2-0 over Kansas City. Nate Jaqua and Dwayne De Rosario both got on the score sheet for Houston, while the Dynamo defense was also in great form, allowing no shots on goal.

After winning the US Open Cup, the Revolution will be gunning for the double on Sunday. This will be the fourth MLS Cup and third in a row for the Revolution, but they have lost the previous three, two in overtime and one in a shootout. Despite not winning in convincing fashion, New England showed that they were able to grind it out in a close game with a 1-0 win over Chicago in the Eastern final.

For Houston, Brian Ching is a concern as he is listed as doubtful with a left calf strain. Pat Noonan has a lingering quad strain, but he will be available for the Revs.

New England won the season series between the two sides with a win and a tie. Their last meeting was on July 22nd when the teams played to a 3-3 draw at Gillette Stadium.

Key Match-up
Houston could possibly be without Brian Ching on Sunday. If that is the case, then Joseph Ngwenya will have to step into Ching's spot in the starting lineup. Ngwenya, along with Nate Jaqua, will get plenty of service from the likes of Brad Davis, Brian Mullan and De Rosario, but he and Jaqua will need to finish their chances.

New England has shown the ability to win close games, against both New York and Chicago. One goal has been enough in both of those match-ups. If Parkhurst and the rest of the New England backline can keep the Houston strike pair from getting too many clear chances, then don't be surprised if Taylor Twellman gets a chance for another winner.
