Things could not have gone any worse for Juan Carlos Osorio in his first game in charge of the Fire as his men were trampled by the visiting Houston Dynamo 4-0.

Fifteen minutes in, Jim Curtin nearly opened the scoring twice for Chicago with looping headers, but both were both pushed over by Pat Onstad.
Midway through the first half, Ricardo Clark nearly put the Dynamo ahead when he rattled a volley off of the top of the crossbar.
Houston then took the lead in the 31st minute. Wade Barrett made an overlapping run down the left and one-timed a cross to Stuart Holden, who redirected the ball past Matt Pickens.
In the 58th minute, Nate Jaqua, in his first start for Houston, doubled the score. A loose ball bounced to Jaqua at the top of the six and the former Fire striker buried the ball into the upper right corner.
Four minutes later, Joseph Ngwenya pitched in with a great individual effort. Running into the box, Ngwenya touched the ball around Chicago defender Jim Curtin, dribbled past an onrushing Pickens, and finished from an impossible angle to seal the game.
In injury time, seconds after coming in, Chris Wondolowski tapped in the rebound of a De Rosario shot to make it 4-0 for the second Thursday in a row.
Houston is now 8-0-1 since the beginning of May and hasn'’t allowed a goal in 605 minutes of league play. Chicago, with the loss, is 1-8-3 since defeating Houston on April 29.
The Dynamo will look to continue their winning ways when they host Toronto on Sunday. Chicago will have plenty of time to right the ship before they take on Toronto on July 29th. |
