The crowd 5,087 at stadiummk saw the visitors strike first in the 16th minute when Aaron McLean was put clear on goal and cooly slotted his finish to give Petersborough the early lead.

Just under 10 minutes later, the home side equalized when Johnson squared a ball to wide open Mark Wright, who easily tied the game from inside the box.

Johnson and Wright combined again in the 52nd minute when the New Jersey-born forward curled a ball into Wright, who turned and buried a shot from 12 yards to give Dons the lead.

Midfielder Colin Cameron added an insurance goal five minutes from the final whistle to assure Dons a spot in the next round.
