American forward Jemal Johnson tried to create a chance in the first 20 minutes when he put in a nice cross, but no one was there to finish it.

Keith Andrews put Dons ahead in the 42nd minute of the game with his 11th goal of the season. Alan Navarro drilled a great low ball across the six-yard box and Andrews was there to tap it in.

Chesterfield's Jamie Lowry equalized the match in the 69th minute. Jack Lester was shut down by the Dons defense, but the ball then came to Lowry, whose strike from 20 yards out gave keeper Willy Guéret no chance.

Dons wasted no time in regaining their lead, though, as Lloyd Dyer put the Dons up in the 70th minute. The midfielder received the ball on the right side and exchanged passes with Aaron Wilbraham, who created space for Dyer's left-footed shot inside the far post from 16 yards out.

Dean Lewington almost put Dons up by twos with about 10 minutes left in he match, but his shot from 30 yards out hit the post. Johnson helped keep the ball away from Chesterfield in the end to hold onto the lead.

Dons is now at the top of the League Two table, ahead of Peterborough by a point. They host Dagenham & Redbridge on March 15th.
