Clint Mathis has hopped the ocean from MLS for a second time, joining Greek Super League cellar dwellers Ergotolis on a one-year deal.

The former US international, who arrives from Los Angeles, will be expected to pump up an attack that has only bagged nine goals in 15 games.

Mathis was acquired by the Galaxy from New York last month, but the third round SuperDraft pick spent to obtain the out of contract hit man has gone to waste. Sydney FC were among two Australian teams also recently courting his services.

His previous stint in Europe was a roller coaster year with Hannover 96, and the 30-year old has also played for Colorado and Real Salt Lake.

The next league encounter for Ergotolis comes Sunday, with Iraklis Saloniki coming to town.
