Sydney FC coach John Kosmina declared his interest prior to a November 27th friendly with the Galaxy, and now another team from Down Under has entered the fray.

Mathis, who has run out of contract, was traded from New York to Los Angeles - the team with which he started his MLS career in 1998 - on November 19th. The Galaxy are his sixth team in as many years.

"He has interest from two Australian clubs," Craig Sharon told American Soccer Daily. "MLS would like to re-sign him and he's looking at his options."

The 31-year old has bagged 59 goals and 45 assists in 210 MLS regular season contests, and scored five times in 17 games with Hannover 96. Mathis also has 46 US National Team caps and scored against South Korea at World Cup 2002.
