Toronto FC draft pick Jospeh Lapira has finally begun an audition with Scottish Premier League outfit Aberdeen, who hope to give him a run in a midweek reserve match.

The Pittodrie side, currently fifth in the table, was set to trial the young striker last August. However, an injury during his preceding visit to Rangers halted that plan.

"Joseph is due to be here until the end of next week," Dons press officer Dave Macdermid told American Soccer Daily.

"His international clearance did not come through in time for him to play in last week's reserve game, but he should be able to play against Falkirk on Wednesday."

Toronto FC coach Mo Johnston is eager to bring Lapira to MLS, but the former Notre Dame star's desire to break into the Ireland national team set-up has compelled him to look for work in Europe. The Louisiana native also holds an Irish passport through his mother.
