Sirius came out flat against Landskrona BoIS and were punished with a 2-1 defeat on a rainy Thursday evening.

Versatile Tighe Dombrowski again went the distance at left back and had the first shot of the game for the visitors.

BoIS jumped out to the lead in the 22nd minute when Pär Cederqvist snuck a free kick in at the near post. Though the ball was well placed, the goal was certainly avoidable as Sirius keeper Jon Rytterbro did a poor job arranging the wall.

Sirius were inches away from equalizer five minutes later when Andreas Eriksson hit a thunderous drive that deflected off the underside of the crossbar.

Landskrona extended their lead before the half thanks to a gift from Sirius keeper Rytterbro, who was certainly having a night to forget. He completely mis-hit a backpass that went straight up in the air and lost the ensuing aerial contest to an onrushing Cederqvist, who was gifted his second of the night.

Sirius opened the second half in a better fashion as Landskrona backed home in hopes of preserving their two-goal lead. In the 79th minute, the Uppsala side finally broke their as Fredrik Olsson buried a rebound after two fantastic saves from Lee Baxter.

With time running out Sirius poured forward in hopes of an equalizer, and Antou Jallow nearly found it as his flick header beat Baxter but rebounded off the post.

Sirius hold a tenuous fifth place position only two points ahead of three teams who have a game on hand. Sirius will enjoy a bit of a break before they host GIF Sundsvall a week from Sunday.
