Kazlauskas Relief Over First Win

by Greg Seltzer - September 20, 2007

Their season duck now broken, TOP Oss defender Charles Kazlauskas has his sights set on bigger and better, including a period title run.

The southerners defeated Stormvogels Telstar last week, then scored a 2-all draw at MVV Maastricht on Monday to rack up four points to start the second section of the Jupiler league season.

"It felt great to get the first win of the season at home last Friday," Kazlauskas told American Soccer Daily. "The goose egg is off the board and we finally got rewarded with three points. It was frustrating at times, especially when you looked at the standings in the paper."

Despite currently sitting next to last in the table, the team have maintained an air of confidence. Kazlauskas asserts that there is plenty of time for the men from Oss to turn their campaign around, especially if they can claim a period championship and the promotion playoff berth that comes with it.

"We have always had a good team feeling, even when we were not earning points," said the American right back on Thursday.

"We are now fifth in the second period and are planning on moving up starting tomorrow night at FC Zwolle. There are 30 games left and plenty of points to be earned."
