The Texas-born midfielder first caught Brugge's eye when he starred in a 3-1 friendly win for the US over the Blauw-Zwart (Blue-Black) in July of 2007.

After the U-17 World Cup in Korea this summer in which Jeffrey was ever-present for the States, including in the 2-0 win over Belgium, the club invited him onto their preseason tour of Turkey.

Their interest has now apparently moved up a notch and they are hoping to tie up a deal for the 17-year old within the next few weeks.

Jeffrey, who turns 18 in June, has been with the Dallas Texans since U-11 level and joined the US Residency Program at Bradenton in 2005.

Club Brugge, who hold 13 Belgian titles, are currently sitting top of the Jupiler League after 16 games.
