The double Women's World Cup winners were enshrined along with former US Soccer Federation president Alan Rothenberg, who helped bring both MLS and the 1994 World Cup to fruition, and former NASL and USMNT defender Bobby Smith.

Hamm, who bagged 158 goals in 275 international outings, spoke about the pride she felt inspiring a generation of young girls with he soccer.

"You see the hope and the confidence on these young girls' faces when they sit there and they're screaming your name," she stated during the ceremony. "What I always feel is that when they watch us play, that they see themselves, that they can do anything."
