The 23-year old Guzan picked up the honor after a regular season that saw him rack up a 14 wins and a league best 13 shutouts with a 0.93 goals against average. He outdistanced Houston's Pat Onstad and Matt Reis of New England in the voting.

"It's an honor to have been chosen Panasonic Goalkeeper of the Year," said Guzan. "I want to thank my parents, my coaches and Chivas USA's passionate fans for their support."

"I especially want to thank my Chivas USA teammates, with whom I share this award, because it is our work together as a group that has allowed us to succeed this season."

Meanwhile, Parkhurst picked up his prize after working 25 games at center back without a yellow card, committing only five fouls.
