HANSA OPEN CUP 6-PACK

Heath Pearce and Hansa Rostock moved to the final 16 of the German Cup draw with a resounding 6-0 victory over visiting second flighters Kickers Offenbach.

The US international worked the full 90 on the left side of midfield, notching an assist on the capping goal. He also saw a second header saved well by the keeper.

Enrico Kern opened on 20 minutes, the first of four Hansa goals in a 14-minute span. The striker's second goal was sandwiched by strikes from René Rydlewicz and Stefan Beinlich. Zafer Yelen and Dexter Langen added on after the break.

LIONS SEE OFF MAINZ
Berkant Göktan scored two minutes from time as 1860 Munich ousted Mainz 05 with a 2-1 decision at Allianz Arena.

Both Gregg Berhalter and Josh Wolff went the distance for the Lions, while Neven Subotić was given the day off. Wolff nearly opened the scoring late in the first half, but his effort was cleared from the line by Mainz defender Tim Hooglund.

Antonio di Salvo put the hosts ahead in the 50th minute, only to have Félix Borja level matters two minutes later. Göktan bagged the late winner by capitalizing on a gaffe by Mainz netminder Christian Wetklo.

MINERS DUMP 96 IN EXTRAS
Steve Cherundolo and Hannover 96 suffered a tough luck 2-0 defeat at Schalke 04's Veltins Arena.

After a scoreless 90 minutes that saw the Reds spun their fair share of chances, the match moved to extra time.

The Royal Blues took the lead on a Robert Enke own goal in the 97th minute, the 96 keeper diverting a Rafinha cross into his own net. Kevin Kuranyi then added some gloss to the scoreline with a minute left in the second extra session.

--------------------------
PAULI OUSTED ON PENALTIES

Ian Joy and St. Pauli were bumped from the DfB Pokal on spot kicks at Werder Bremen II.

The American worked the full 120 minutes at left back for the visitors.

Ahmet Kuru netted in the 85th minute to send that game to extras at 2-2, but the Anarchists were undone in the penalty shootout after Bremen II keeper Nico Pellatz made stops on Thomas Meggle and Charles Takyi.

--------------------------
ON THE SIDELINE

Kamani Hill did not take part as Wolfsburg advanced with a 1-0 win at Karlsruhe.

Josh Grenier did not take part as Koblenz were ousted by visiting Arminia Bielefeld by a 2-1 count in extra time.

Luis Robles watched from the bench as Kaiserslautern slipped out of the draw by an identical tally at Rot-Weiß Essen.
