ARGUEZ DEBUTS IN 3-0 LOSS
Martin Fenin scored a hat trick to spoil Bryan Arguez's debut as Eintracht Frankfurt rolled to a 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin.

After making the winter move to the German capital from DC United, midfielder Arguez got the ball rolling early on his Bundesliga career, coming on in the 63rd minute to see out the remaining minutes of a hard-fought loss on the road.

The home side started the brighter, forcing former Fulham keeper Jaroslav Drobny into a busy spell of saves. Ioannis Amanitidis tested the Czech keeper with a 20th minute effort, before setting up the opener in the 39th minute.

The Greek star got a head on the ball to find Fenin with a quick flick-on, and the Czech attacker beat his compatriot to the ball and slotted into the net.

Amanitidis nearly put the club up two to the good just before the half, but saw his effort denied.

Fenin doubled the lead in the 60th minute, once again on the end of Amanitidis' creation.

Despite Hertha trying to quell the bleeding, Fenin spoiled the party at the death to round off a hat trick.

Now up for Arguez and Hertha is a trip to VfB Stuttgart next Saturday.

HONORS EVEN IN HAMBURG

Hannover 96 claimed a point from title-chasers Hamburg with a 1-1 draw at the HSH Nordbank Arena.

For US international Steve Cherundolo it was a 90-minute shift at the back, but he picked up a thigh knock that will preclude a call-up from Bob Bradley for their February 6th friendly with Mexico.

In the 28th minute, Arnold Bruggink gave the hosts a scare, sending a 30-yard rocket onto the bar before Christian Schulz was fouled by Guy Demel in the box, with the ref pointing to the spot. Szabolcs Huszti stepped up to slot home the resulting penalty for his seventh goal of the season.

José-Paulo Guerrero came near an equalizer in the 67th minute, before Rafael Van Der Vaart's shot was poked goal-wards by Ivica Olic to level the score, just four minutes later.

Right at the death, Nigel de Jong spurned a glorious opportunity to grab all three points, but it was not to be as this local rivalry split the points both ways.

Die Roten welcome Karlsruher SC to the AWD Arena on Saturday.

ON THE SIDELINE
US call-up Heath Pearce was not in uniform as Hansa Rostock fell 2-1 at home to Bayern Munich on Friday night.

While still at Wolfsburg, Kamani Hill did not take part in Saturday's 1-0 win at Arminia Bielefeld.
