Former LA Galaxy back-up keeper Lance Friesz could be the next American to ply his trade in the Danish soccer leagues, with an Aalborg BK trial now stretching into a third week.

After an unsuccessful trial at Serbian club Partizan Belgrade, the 24-year old Mission Viejo, California native has started a tour of Denmark at Danny Califf's club.

"It's been going very good," Friesz told American Soccer Daily. "It was cool to come over to Western Europe and experience the first team football that they play over here. I feel personally that the game is a little bit faster over here."

Nothing is settled yet, but the American has enjoyed his trial with AaB and the feedback has been mostly positive.

"I haven't had any personal one-on-one conversations with them, but everyone in training is saying 'good job, you're doing good'. Laughed Friesz, "At least they're not yelling at you and telling you suck."

Aalborg BK general manager Lynge Jakobsen admitted that he has still not made his final decision on whether the American has a future at the club.

"We have had Lance trialing for two weeks and how it ends, I can't say for sure yet, but we haven't lacked goalkeepers and the window is closed, although there may be a possibility in the fact that he is a free agent," Jakobsen told ASD.

"When I'm interested, it's because I think there's a lot of good American goalkeepers playing over there as well as in Europe."

"He's like most Americans: a great guy with the right attitude," says Jakobsen, summing up his own impression and that of the coaching staff. "He's a skilled goalkeeper, but at the moment he's not better than Karim (Zaza). What level he is at in Denmark is difficult to say. I don't think we have seen him enough for that."

Should the stay at AaB end without a contract, the next move for Friesz will be heading to Copenhagen, where he has more trials lined up.
