The 25-year old, who runs out of contract at the end of the month, is in the midst of a week-long trial with Les Rouches.

Encouraged by Standard star and longtime pal Oguchi Onyewu, Eskandarian says he is enjoying the experience.

"The first training sessions were positive," he told the club website. "The level here is very high."

Standard coach Michel Preud'homme, who took the advice of Onyewu in offering the invite, suggested that deal could happen quickly if Eskandarian sufficiently impresses.

"The trial had to happen immediately because I only want to take squad members to (our winter training camp in) Portugal," he stated.

Eskandarian, who began 2007 with Toronto FC before being dealt to RSL for Jeff Cunningham, has scored 22 goals in 104 career regular season MLS contests.
