Enochs a Changing Fixture

Another year older and another year wiser, veteran VfL Osnabrück midfielder Joe Enochs is pensive about his changing presence in the team's 2.Bundesliga campaign.

"My role on the team this season is definitely different than years past," Enochs told American Soccer Daily. "I still think that I am looked upon as a leader, but my playing time has decreased."

The hard-as-nails midfielder has been involved in seven of 12 games this season, accumulating just one yellow card.

"The times that I have played, I have done well," he noted. "But we did not get the results that we needed."

Results have been mixed this year, with a 4-3-6 record on the season, by which the Lower Saxony club finds itself in 12th place. As nine teams are within five points of the Violets' grasp, everything has yet to be played for - something that has Enochs cautious.

"Everything looks alright, but it can go in either direction" the San Francisco native remarked. "A few teams that are behind us have the ability to strengthen themselves in the winter break, which will make them more competitive."

"It is going to come down to the last few games and I hope that we can stay above the line until then. We are in a dangerous position now."

When the international break concludes, Joe and the boys have a good shot at picking up crucial points, with last placed Carl Zeiss Jena coming to town on Friday.
