PK LIFTS HUDDERSFIELD OVER MILLWALL
Huddersfield defeated visiting Millwall 1-0 on Tuesday night with a penalty kick goal ceded by Zak Whitbread, who returned from injury for Millwall but didn't play his best game.

Rob Page almost put Huddersfield ahead from Robbie Williams corner, but his header was cleared by Millwall's Marc Laird.

Huddersfield went ahead 1-0 in the 29th minute when Whitbread fouled Luke Beckett in the box. The American received a yellow card for the challenge and his victim converted the penalty.

Neil Alexander tried to bring Millwall level, but Terriers keeper Matt Glennon was there to stop him.

Beckett then came close to putting Huddersfield up by two about midway through the second half. His header was stopped by Millwall keeper Rhys Evans, who made a nice reflex save.

Ahmet Brkovic had one last chance to equalize for the Lions late in the match, but Glennon made a kick save.

With the loss, Millwall remain one point above the relegation zone. They host last place Port Vale on Saturday.

JOHNSON HITS LEG ONE WINNER
Jemal Johnson was the hero as MK Dons defeated League One leaders Swansea 1-0 in Wales on Tuesday night in the first leg of their Johnstone's Paint Trophy semifinal.

The Dons, who are at the top of the league two table, were led to victory by the American forward, who scored in the 69th minute.

Dons keeper Willy Gueret stood his ground early, coming out to smother chances for Kristian O'Leary and Febian Brandy in the opening 25 minutes.

Johnson had an attempt at goal near the end of the first half after feeding the ball to Keith Andrews, who then found Kevin Gallen on the edge of the box. Johnson came roaring in and Gallen passed the ball back to him, but his left-footed shot went high and wide.

The Dons had a penalty appeal denied early in the second half when Johnson was harassed in the area, but he would strike in the 69th minute. Andrews played a short free kick to the forward, whose shot from 25 yards out found the bottom corner of the net.

Johnson has now scored in two of Dons four games in this competition. He also scored the equalizer in the quarterfinals against League One side Gillingham.

Swansea almost equalized minutes later as Thomas Butler's shot challenged Gueret, who made a one-handed save.

Johnson almost put Dons up 2-0 off the rebound of Danny Swailes' shot, but Dorius de Vries saved both shots.

Swansea's last chance to equalize came a few minutes later. Angel Rangel's shot from 22 yards out was directed low and left, but saved by Gueret.

MK Dons will host the second leg of the semifinal on February 25th.

Scoring
MKD - Jemal Johnson 2 (Keith Andrews) 69'

MKD - Willy Gueret; Danny Swailes, Sean O'Hanlon, Drissa Diallo, Dean Lewington, Alan Navarro, Keith Andrews, Colin Cameron (Jude Stirling 64'), Lloyd Dyer (Sam Baldock 90'), Kevin Gallen (Matt Carbon 89'), Jemal Johnson
