Beasley Direction Nearly Clear

US attacker DaMarcus Beasley has all but finalized a transfer from PSV Eindhoven, with Rangers apparently running clear in the race for his signature.

The 25-year old spent last season on loan with Manchester City, but the interested Citizens and their fellow Beasley chasers have apparently come up short in talks with the Farmers.

"There has been significant progress in the negotiations between ourselves and Rangers," PSV Eindhoven director Stan Valckx told The Sun. "The discussions have been accelerated, but we must wait until after DaMarcus plays for his country on Sunday."

Reports out of the United Kingdom suggest that Rangers manager Walter Smith could present the speedster, who is set to work the Gold Cup final against arch rivals Mexico, as soon as Monday. Clubs from England, the Netherlands and Spain have also made contact with Beasley's agent since it became clear he would not return to Eindhoven for the final year of his PSV deal.
