Beasley at Ibrox to Seal Move

by Peter Kratzel - June 27, 2007

US midfield stalwart DaMarcus Beasely has completed a transfer from PSV Eindhoven to Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers.

The winger joins the Old Fim crew on a three-year deal, pending work permit approval from the UK Home Office -a mere formality for an international of Beasley's stature.

Beasley, who scored two goals to help propel the US to the recent Gold Cup championship, arrives after two Eredivisie rings and a season on loan at Manchester City to show for his three years with PSV.

The 25-year old Indiana native was also being chased by teams from England, the Netherlands and Spain until Rangers struck a deal with the Dutch champs this week.

Rangers boss Walter Smith has made no secret that he hoped to lure the American speedster to Ibrox, and now finally has gotten his man.

ASD correspondent Peter Kratzel is at Murray Park, and will file a full report later.
