Brazilian forward Denílson and MLS have engaged in preliminary talks that may see the World Cup veteran join the American league.

Denílson's Spain-based agent, Antonio Barrera, confirmed to American Soccer Daily that there has been contact from the league, though the player remains in Brazil.

"There are only preliminary talks, but interest is on both sides," Barrera told American Soccer Daily. "There is no particular team that I can confirm, just that there is interest from the league."

Denílson is currently with Al-Nasr of the Saudi Premier League, having come over following a year long stint with Girondins Bordeaux of French League One.

The winger was once the subject of the highest soccer transfer in history at more that $40 million when he signed with Real Betis of La Liga, but was relatively unsuccessful with the Spanish club.
